National University System (NUS) is committed to providing affordable, accessible education and professional development opportunities to the workforce of our nation’s Community Colleges. To further its mission of supporting workforce education solutions, NUS affiliates, National University, City University of Seattle, and Northcentral University, are offering tuition discounts to Community College Employees, their spouses and dependents.

Eligibility Requirements: Must submit employment verification showing current employment at a state Community College.

Joe Patterson.

Joe Patterson

Vice President, Partnership Development, Workforce Education Solutions

Joe Patterson is the Vice President of Partnership Development for the National University System. He leads the Workforce Education Solutions teams supporting partners in Corporate & Banking, Healthcare, K-12, Public Safety, and Community College sectors. Joe has held multiple leadership roles in higher education since 2005 leading global business development, account management, enrollment, marketing, and operations teams for a variety of universities, most notably Thunderbird School of Global Management, Concordia University – Portland, and NYU’s Steinhardt School of Education. At Thunderbird, Joe led all executive education and custom corporate activities in North America, South America, and Asia. Joe’s work with corporate clients took him to more than 20 countries on 4 continents, including Brazil, Russia, India, and China. Prior to working in higher education, Joe held operational leadership roles in the pharmaceutical and financial services industries including McKesson and Discover Card. Joe holds a Global MBA and Executive Certificate in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. in English from Arizona State University. He is also an alum of Penn State University’s Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning.

Monir Masoud M.S. & M.A.

Program Manager, Community College Pathways

Monir Masoud has over 10 years of experience in higher education/student success. With a background in enrollment and academic advising, Monir focuses his energies on educating students on pathway to graduation. As the Manager Community College Pathways, he oversees community colleges partnerships and students transfer initiative that support clear academic pathways focused on the degree for both transfer students and community college employees. Monir received his AA in Business/Sales from Deltion College in the Netherlands, a BA in Communications/PR/Marketing from the Applied Science University of Windesheim in the Netherlands, and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership and an M.A. in Human Behavior from National University. He speaks four languages Faris/Dari, Russian, Dutch and English, drinks a lot of smoothies, enjoys hiking, and spends a lot of time listening to music, watching tv, social media, reading articles, and thinking about his life and how to make someone happy. For me life means FUN!
